The Israel Deception

Is the return of Israel in the 20th century truly a work of God, or is it a result of a cosmic chess move to deceive the elect by the adversary?

Bitcoin mining going mainstream as brokerage house Fidelity admits to mining the cryptocurrency

It is one thing for a sovereign government, central bank, or finance ministry to simply accept a cryptocurrency as money, but when a Wall Street brokerage house creates a desk to actually mine Bitcoin, then you know that the digital money has become accepted at the highest levels of finance.

In what bitcoin geeks undoubtedly interpreted as a sign of bitcoin’s renewed relevance now that its price is at all-time highs, Fidelity CEO Abigail Johnson told CoinDesk’s Consensus conference that her company is now in the business of mining bitcoin.
Per the FT:
“Ms Johnson noted that Fidelity has also set up a bank of computers built by 21 Inc that can crunch complex algorithms to be rewarded with bitcoin.
“My…computer has mined over 200,000 satoshis,” she said, using the name for the smallest unit of Bitcoin. - Zerohedge
In the halls of Wall Street, if there is money to be made then no irrelevant asset class or idea is discarded or looked upon as trivial.  And if brokers across the spectrum really decide they want to financialize cryptocurrencies en masse, then regular individuals better be wary because the financial centers of the universe have the capital to buy it all up, and after that the real fun begins.

Wall Street financialization of Bitcoin continues as CME seeking to allow derivative trading

The CME Group is in the process of finalizing a patent for a Bitcoin derivative contract that would allow Bitcoin miners to hedge their production of Bitcoin currency.

In a new report on April 17, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) is planning to allow for derivative trading of Bitcoin futures on the nation's largest commodity exchange, and continue Wall Street's financialization of the crypto-currency.

Derivatives giant CME Group is looking to patent a way for bitcoin miners to hedge against operational risks.
As detailed in a patent application published last week by the US Patent and Trademark Office, the proposed system would receive data from the bitcoin network as a means of keeping contracts up to date - monitoring metrics like network difficulty and price.
CME previously launched a pair of bitcoin price indexes last year.
The filing is notable as bitcoin mining, the process by which new transactions are added to the bitcoin blockchain, is a kind of commodities production. Miners expend energy and manpower in exchange for newly minted bitcoins. - Coindesk
The largest problem with this of course is that derivatives and futures contracts for both commodities and currencies are allowed to be bought and sold by banks and other entities who have no skin in the game.  And it is this type of trading that has led to the suppression of gold and silver since their prices are determined by benchmark auctions in London, and paper futures contracts at the Comex.

SEC shoots down second financial product to try to put Bitcoin on Wall Street

On March 29 the SEC rejected the second Exchange Traded Product (ETP) in the past 30 days to try to take Bitcoin to Wall Street and financialize the crypto-currency.

Citing the primary fact that Bitcoin is an unregulated currency as the reason for the rejection, in the end for Bitcoin purists the last thing they want is for the currency to become blemished through financialization and being destroyed by derivative trading.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday denied for the second time this month a request to bring to market a first-of-its-kind product tracking bitcoin, the digital currency.
The SEC announced in a filing its decision denying Intercontinental Exchange Inc's NYSE Arca exchange the ability to list and trade the SolidX Bitcoin Trust, an exchange-traded product (ETP) that would trade like a stock and track the digital asset's price.
Previously, the regulatory agency said it had concerns with a similar proposal by investors Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss.
"The Commission believes that the significant markets for bitcoin are unregulated," the SEC said in its filing, echoing language from its decision earlier this month on the application by CBOE's Bats exchange to list The Bitcoin ETF proposed by the Winklevoss brothers. On Friday, Bats asked the SEC to review its decision not to allow that fund to trade. - CNBC

Bitcoin goes Wall Street as an exchange brings margin trading into crypto-currency investing

Despite the recent no-go for a Bitcoin ETF on Wall Street, the financialization of the crypto-currency continues as Coinbase, a popular Bitcoin exchange, is now introducing margin trading for investors of the digital money.

GDAX, the cryptocurrency exchange run by Coinbase, has added margin trading to the platform.
Eligible traders can now trade up to 3X leveraged orders on Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin order books.
If you’re unfamiliar with trading and exchanges, margin trading is when you borrow money from your broker to buy or sell more stock than you can afford. It’s essentially a short-term loan. By buying or selling on margin, traders can increase their leverage and buying power, potentially generating profits beyond what their own cash balance would have supported.
This feature is mainly geared toward institutional investors. That’s because Coinbase has launched the feature attempting to fit within the boundaries of the Commodity Exchange Act. - Tech Crunch
In just the past week sovereign controls by both the Chinese and U.S. governments have wiped out one of Bitcoin's primary functions as privacy is no longer applicable for those who buy or sell Bitcoin in many exchanges.  And now with this new derivative trading scheme available from another exchange, the crypto-currency may soon become extremely leveraged beyond its mined production limit of 16 million Bitcoins.

This has always been the biggest fear for Bitcoin purists... that a government or financial market would co-opt digital currencies and make their underlying potential null and void as a 'decentralized form of money'.  And it has always been the actions of third party conduits, such as with crypto-currency exchanges, that have placed digital forms of money like Bitcoin in jeopardy of simply becoming another leveraged asset that Wall Street can profit off of to the detriment of the holders.

Bitcoin price flash crashes as SEC rejects application for a Bitcoin ETF

In a move that should have seen holders of Bitcoin rejoice rather than panic, the SEC on March 10 rejected the Winklevoss twins application to create a Bitcoin ETF, which would have seriously harmed the crypto-currency by financializing it under Wall Street control.

Yet because Bitcoin has become the primary crypto-currency of choice, easily winning out over other digital forms such as Etherium, Dash, and Monero, its volatility is extraordinary since it has already become partially financialized via Bitcoin exchanges.

And thus when the news broke we saw the price in USD fall nearly $300 down to $978.

After much anticipation (and a spike to record highs earlier today), The SEC has decided to reject the Winklevoss application for a Bitcoin ETF.
The SEC premise appears to be the unregulated natuire of the underlying:
Based on the record before it, the Commission believes that the significant markets for bitcoin are unregulated.
Therefore, as the Exchange has not entered into, and would currently be unable to enter into, the type of surveillance-sharing agreement that has been in place with respect to all previously approved commodity-trust ETPs—agreements that help address concerns about the potential for fraudulent or manipulative acts and practices in this market - the Commission does not find the proposed rule change to be consistent with the Exchange Act. - Zerohedge
The irony is that Bitcoin should have gone higher rather than flash crash because supporters of the crypto-currency desperately want to keep it out of the hands of Wall Street, banks, and government regulators.  However, when we look at how activities taken by the Chinese government last month could cause the same type of volatility to the price of Bitcoin as today's ruling did, the question needs to be asked if the digital money has not already been corrupted to the point in centralization that it no longer provides the wealth protection and security that were the platforms that made Bitcoin unique.

How Donald Trump can bailout the American consumer without costing the government a dime

When the government was suddenly faced with the possibility of the entire Western financial system collapsing during a weekend back in September of 2008, Congress approved a bailout measure that was dedicated only for Wall Street, and left the American people stuck with their own massive accumulation of debts.  And of course this bailout of the 1% by the U.S. government to the detriment of the 99% saw many Americans lose their homes in foreclosure to the same banks that received taxpayer money, making the public outrage two-fold.

Now nine years later, debt levels for both consumers and Wall Street have once again grown to dangerous levels, and are threatening the very fabric of the global financial system.

But unlike in 2008 when the U.S. government was run by bought and paid for establishment politicians like George Bush, Dick Cheney, Hank Paulson, and Chuck Schumer, there is now someone in the White House who not only understands debt, remediation, bankruptcy, and negotiation, but is a populist who appears to favor helping the American people over the bankers and shills working on Wall Street.

Which bears the question then of how exactly could President Trump bailout the tapped out consumer without it costing a single dime to the taxpayer, or the budget?

In an interview on Feb. 22 with USA Watchdog's Greg Hunter, Nobel Prize nominee Robert David Steele provided a scenario proposed from one of his contacts that could allow President Trump to act as the negotiator for the entire American populace regarding their debt, and force the banks to a choice... either cut the interest rates and outstanding debt held by the American consumer in each of their individual accounts, or he would promote their stopping payments altogether and backstop this through a mass Pardon which would wipe away their legal obligations to the debt entirely.

Image result for make american consumers great again
Robert David Steele: Now let me point out a debt you haven't focused on, which is the three trillion that individuals owe to bloodsucking banks that have basically violated every biblical precept and with legalized crime are charging 29% interest rates.
I have proposed, and this is not my idea... someone smarter than me came up with this idea but I think it's brilliant, if Donald Trump created a website, something that could easily be created overnight, and if 150 million people registered their student debt, their medical debt, their family credit card debt, and their small business debt and they authorized Donald Trump to renegotiate that debt on their behalf... and Donald Trump has one to two to three trillion dollars worth of debt that he is the authorized personally assigned agent of the American people, he can go to the banks and say folks, we're going to cut this debt by two-thirds, and if you don't do that... because the banks have already made back their money and are just sucking blood from a rock with interest rates, I am going to ask every American to stop paying these debt and I am going to give ever American a Presidential Pardon.

Investors, traders, and analysts expect gold to be higher in forecasts for 2017

Gold has been validated to currently be in the next leg of a Bull Market and investors, traders, and analysts all see the price going much higher in 2017.

In a poll conducted by Reuters on Oct. 28, 35 Wall Street participants confirmed that the gold price will go up next year, with the average price range being about $1331 per ounce.

Gold is expected to post its highest average annual price in four years in 2017, a Reuters poll showed on Friday, after bottoming out this year following three straight years of decline.
The poll of 35 analysts and traders conducted over the last two weeks returned an average gold price forecast for 2017 of $1,331 an ounce. That would be the highest average since 2013, when the metal plunged 28 percent year on year.
Respondents predicted an average gold price this year of $1,270 an ounce, slightly above the current average of $1,258. That reflects a stronger expected performance in the fourth quarter, when prices are expected to average $1,300. - Reuters
On a side note, the estimated price range of $1331 from Wall Street participants does not take into consideration geo-political or financial black swans, which like with Brexit, could send gold skyrocketing well above their current forecasts and closer towards gold's all time highs.

Recent gold take down may be part of a gambit involving China seeking to buy Deutsche Bank's gold derivative book

Last week while China's financial infrastructure was primarily closed for their annual Golden Week holiday, one or more entities slammed the gold price down by dumping billions of dollars worth of contracts on at least three separate occasions.  And without opposing buy pressure from the usual counter-parties in Asia, the price was pushed down from a high of $1317 on Oct. 3 to an inter-day low of $1246 on Friday.

1 Week Gold Prices - Gold Price Chart

However, most of the trades that created the drop of $70 over the course of four days occurred almost instantaneously, with billions in contracts being dumped onto the market in less than a minute each time.

So what was the cause and reason for this attack on the gold price, especially since there was no news or events at all during the week that would spur traders to divest their holdings in such quantities?  Speculation has been rampant in the alternative media, but nothing conclusive as to why...

until now.

On Oct. 6, well known and respected statistician and analyst Dr. Jim Willie gave an interview with Perpetual Assets to discuss the current state of the economy, and in particular events such as Deutsche Bank's insolvency and the recent takedown in gold.  And during his over two hour interview, Dr. Willie laid out a scenario regarding China's desire to buy Deutsche Bank's gold derivative book, and the pressure put on the German bank by London and the U.S. to counter the move by forcing them to sell their contracts onto the market, even at a loss.
Dr, Jim Willie: What is Deutsche Bank's biggest problem right now, outside the law?
Will Lehr:  Their derivatives book?
JW: It's cash.  I don't mean where they are in trouble, but rather what is their challenge.  Cash.  They are having liquidity nightmares.
So what I am hearing is that the Chinese are coming forward, and remember they are off all week for some holiday, and that's one reason that gold got slammed.  But the Chinese have offered cash... I've heard they've offered something on the order of $100 billion.
And I go WHAT?  Just for Deutsche Bank?  And my source said no, no no, they aren't interested in the whole bank... they are interested in their gold derivatives book.
Because what we're hearing in the buzz among bankers... you know, New York, London, and European centers is that indeed China is looking to buy their gold derivative book, and the word has it that the derivative book involves more gold than is in the Comex.
More than what's traded in the Comex in a year.
It's bigger than the Comex by an order of magnitude.
Ok, so Deutsche Bank is interested in the Chinese deal, but what they're experiencing from what I'm hearing, is that the Deutsche Bank officials are being forced by London and Wall Street, to dump their derivative book.  And I don't know if it's at a loss, and I have the feeling the Wall Street and Londoners don't care whether it's at a loss, they just want this derivative book to slowly be dissolved and sold off so that the Chinese don't get it.
Fast forward to 31:20 in the video below to hear the entire story behind the Chinese gambit, and the pressure by the Western gold consortium to force Deutsche Bank to dump their derivatives onto the market to keep it out of China's hands.

Anti-Wall Street group seeks to create a new transparent gold exchange using blockchain technologies

In his now famous book, Flash Boys, author Michael Lewis took real Wall Street individuals and fictionalized them to paint a picture of just how manipulated the paper trading markets really are,

Now those who were represented in Lewis's book are seeking to go head to head against the fraudulent banks and exchanges by creating a new gold exchange that would run with full transparency, and use blockchain technology to accomplish this.

IEX Group, which rose to prominence with its bid to shake up stock trading in the United States, now aims to do the same in the more than $5 trillion-a-year gold market with a new exchange being created by its spinoff TradeWind Markets, a board member of the new venture said on Tuesday.
The protagonists of Michael Lewis's book, "Flash Boys: A Wall Street Revolt," are planning a gold exchange that would use elements of blockchain technology to improve transparency and the clearing and settling of trades, said Matt Harris, a managing director at Bain Capital Ventures. Bain has an investment in IEX.
Blockchain is a tamper-proof shared ledger that can automatically process and settle transactions using computer algorithms.
TradeWind Markets began as an internal project of IEX and was spun off as a separate firm earlier this year. In June, the startup raised $9 million, according to a regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. A person familiar with the operation who asked not to be identified because the plans are not public, said the funding came from IEX and Sprott Inc, a Canada-based investment firm that manages physical bullion funds. A lack of transparency is one of the problems that makes the gold market ripe for change, said Harris, who is on TradeWind's board. - Reuters
The introduction of the Shanghai Gold Exchange in Chain last year changed the game for physical gold trading, and created a crack in the long-standing Western control over the gold price.  And with the advent of a new and trusted gold exchange being built that would be outside the controls of the banks that run them now, and functioning on blockchain technology, it could cause miners, refiners, and producers to move away from contracts and delivery with London and the Comex and instead sell metals directly on this new exchange, allowing prices to rise and fall according to the free market, not price manipulations.

Markets soar to new all-time highs as they realize the Fed will never raise rates on completely manipulated good news

The monthly job report came out for July today, and the massive higher than expected number is sending markets soaring to new all-time highs.  In fact, for the first time in 16 years the Nasdaq has equaled its previous all-time high and could close with a new record.

But underlying all of this is a fantastic dichotomy in fiscal and monetary policies that Wall Street has finally caught on to...  and that is, the government will continue to report bogus manipulated better than expected data, and the Fed will simply ignore it and keep going forward with zero interest rates.

This of course is the signal for speculation to now go all out in equities.
One week ago, the BEA admitted that it had "found a problem" when it comes to calculating GDP numbers. Specifically it blamed "residual seasonality" adjustments for giving historical GDP numbers a persistent optimistic bias. This came in the aftermath of last week's shocking Q2 GDP report which printed at 1.2%, less than half of Wall Street's consensus.
Today, seasonality made another appearance, this time however in the much anticipated July number, which unlike the woeful Q2 GDP number, was the opposite, coming in far higher than expected. In fact it was higher than the top Wall Street estimate.
As Mitsubishi UFJ strategist John Herrmann wrote in a note shortly after the report, the "jobs headline overstates" strength of payrolls. He adds that the unadjusted data show a “middling report” that’s “nowhere as strong as the headline" and adds that private payrolls unadjusted +85k in July vs seasonally adjusted +217k.
We leave it up to readers to decide just why the government may want to represent what would otherwise have been a far weaker than expected report, into a blowout number, one which merely adds to the economic "recovery" narrative, which incidentally will come in very useful to Hillary's presidential campaign.
Yet even assuming the market has no doubts about the seasonally adjusted headline number, as appears to be the case, the other problem that has emerged for the Fed is how to ignore this strong number. As Bank of Tokyo's Chris Rupkey writes, “Let’s see Yellen get out of this one and find something in the data to once again not raise rates in September.” (We assume he did not see the unadujsted numbers.)
As he adds, slowing 2Q GDP growth of 1.2% took Sept. rate hike “off the table” and now “the million dollar question” is whether 255k payroll jobs in July, 292k in June put it back on.  As a reminder, Yellen speaks exactly in three weeks time at Jackson Hole on Aug. 26; “let’s see if she provides some guidance." But while rate hike odds may have spiked after today's report, it is almost certain that, as we said last night, the Fed will not dare to hike the rate in September and potentially unleash market turmoil in the most sensitive part of the presidential race.
As for a December rate hike, there are 4 months until then, and much can happen: who knows, maybe the BLS will even undo the significant seasonal adjustment boost that send July jobs soaring. - Zerohedge

Just remember, there are no markets anymore, only interventions, and for investors the axiom that was created in 2010 is still applicable today...

Don't fight the Fed.

Got gold? Social security now $32 trillion in the red, with a $6 trillion deficit

Here at the Daily Economist we have written numerous times on the pension shortfalls proliferating municipalities, unions, and state run systems.  But perhaps it is time we look at the most important retirement plan of all, which of course is that of social security.

In the newest 2016 report out by the Social Security Trustees, the fund that already services tens of millions of Americans with a monthly income, and is promised to do the same for hundreds of millions now working in the labor force, is $32 trillion in the red, and in the shorter term has a $6 trillion deficit.

It’s been several weeks since the Social Security Trustees released their 2016 Trustees Report. I’ve been waiting to see if either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton or anyone in the press core would say a peep about the astounding $6 trillion deficit implied by the Report’s table VI.F1.
Not a peep.
As you may know, I’m running for President as a write-in candidate along with my VP choice, UCLA economist, Edward Leamer. We’ll be on the ballot along with the two party candidates if voters simply write Laurence Kotlikoff for President and Edward Leamer for Vice President on the ballot in the space provided. It’s that simple.
Ed and I are deeply concerned about our country’s fiscal condition, which is grave to say the least. If we don’t address it, we can kiss our children’s economic futures goodbye.
I’ll get back to the overall picture, but let me tell the press what they will find if they care to do their job and look at Table VI.F1. They will learn that Social Security, according to the system’s own actuaries, is now $32 trillion in the red! The $32 trillion is the present value difference between all the system’s projected future benefit payments less the sum of a) all its projected future taxes and b) its current almost $3 trillion trust fund.
We economists call this measure Social Security’s infinite horizon fiscal gap. Last year, the Trustees reported a fiscal gap of $26 trillion. So the system’s fiscal gap grew by $6 trillion over the past year, i.e., Social Security ran a $6 trillion deficit! - Forbes
And sadly, this trend of increasing deficits will only get worse as the Baby Boomers move completely into their receiving years for Social Security, and a large portion of Millennials who would normally be starting their careers are either out of work, or in jobs earning barely over minimum wage. And this dilemma of course is not even close enough to provide the revenues to pay for those who now collecting social security, much less sustain it for their own retirement years.

The 2008 financial crisis was a wake-up call, and had given Americans nearly a decade to find new alternative ways to save for their own retirements, and to not have to rely upon insolvent state and federal systems that are themselves bankrupt.  And one of the only ways that this can be achieved, especially if the government soon decides to massively increase taxes to cover the growing deficits, is to get some money into physical gold, which will both protect your wealth, and allow you little or no counter-party risk from insolvent Wall Street or government retirement schemes.

Large insolvent pension fund threatens to cut benefits to zero

Before there was such financial vehicles as social security, pensions, 401K's, IRA's, and mutual funds, people were expected to be responsible for their own retirements and nest eggs.  But with Wall Street using many of these instruments as a way to deceive the public into handing over their money to bankers for upwards of 30-40 years of their working lives, individuals became lax in trusting that corrupt institutions would look out for them and follow through with the preparing for their golden years with security.

The fact of the matter is, the only legal ramification for a corporation, and that includes banks, is their fiduciary responsibilities to their shareholders.  Not to their customers, not to their clients, and not from any moral compass of doing the right thing versus massing as much wealth as possible for themselves.

And sadly, this is also the scenario that has emerged for state, municipal, union, and private pension funds, who for the most part have relieved themselves of their fiduciary responsibilities and given over monies promised to workers to Wall Street fund managers, and even to unscrupulous Hedge Funds in the hopes of expanding pension pools to make up for worker promises they couldn't keep.

And now eight years after zero interest rates destroyed the fixed income markets, not only are states such as Illinois underfunded and virtually insolvent because they put their retirees money in stocks and toxic assets like Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS), now one of the largest private union pension funds is leaving their retired workers with an Ogre's choice (die slowly or die quickly)...

Either have your benefits cuts to virtually nothing, or have the fund go bankrupt within the next 10 years.

The Central States Pension Fund has no new plan to avoid insolvency, fund director Thomas Nyhan said this week. Without government funding, the fund will run out of money in 10 years, he said. At that time, pension benefits for about 407,000 people could be reduced to "virtually nothing," he told workers and retirees in a letter sent Friday.
In a last-ditch effort, the Central States Pension Plan sought government approval to partially reduce the pensions of 115,000 retirees and the future benefits for 155,000 current workers.
The proposed cuts were steep, as much as 60% for some, but it wasn't enough. Earlier this month, the Treasury Department rejected the plan because it found that it would not actually head off insolvency.
The fund could submit a new plan, but decided this week that there's no other way to successfully save the fund and comply with the law. The cuts needed would be too severe. - CNN Money
The bottom line is that 2008 was a warning shot to Americans relying upon pensions and other savings instruments to fund their retirements.  And for those who willingly cashed out when they could despite the penalties, many were able to move that money into tangible wealth protection such as gold, silver, and precious metal based IRA's.  But sadly, the majority of people continue to trust Wall Street, and this week's insolvency for the Central States Pension Fund will only be the beginning of many more collapses to come.

Average Americans still haven’t returned to the stock market after 2008 collapse

When the stock market crashed in 1929, it took until the 1950’s for the Dow Jones to return to its former all-time high of 24 years earlier.  And it also took until the post-war and post-Depression decade before the average American felt secure enough in the equity markets to begin investing on Wall Street.
Over the past 60 years, both the Federal government, and the brokerage houses made it easier for everyday people to play in the stock markets, until the 2008 crash changed all that when equities declined by over 55%.
Yet unlike the 1987 crash, and the bursting of the Dotcom bubble in 2000, this crash appears to be long lasting as a new gallup poll out shows that only 52% of U.S. adults have ever invested in the markets, and that is the lowest percentage in more than two decades.

Economic growth falling fast as Atlanta Fed revises GDP estimates for 3rd time in less than a month

On April 8, the Atlanta Fed downgraded their Q1 GDP estimates for the second time in less than a week, and for the third time within the past 30 days.  And this comes just as earnings season for Wall Street companies are about to begin next week.
Since beginning the year with an announcement that GDP growth for the first quarter of 2016 would be above 1%, and calling for growth as high as 2.6% as recently as February, the Atlanta Fed has changed course immensely since March 15 and has called for growth estimates of .7%, .4%, and now .1% respectively since that date.

Got Karatbars? Owning gold is the best rebellion against the corrupted financial system

In the movie the Big Short, narrator Jarred Vennett implied that prior to the discovery and creation of the Mortgage Backed Security (MBS), banking was a boring occupation where financial advisers offered safe products like government and municipal bonds, or dividend paying utility and energy stocks to investors.  In fact, until the 1980's when Gordon Gecko's 'greed is good' mantra permeated the American psyche, high finance was something very few strived to make their life's work.

But something changed in the early 80's on Wall Street and it may have all started with Alan Greenspan and the Federal Reserve.  This is because a decade after the dollar was removed from the gold standard, America's central bank began their policies of lowering interest rates which vastly increased lending via cheaper money.  And speculation, fraud, and a departure from fiscal responsibility became the fuel that made banking not only a profitable venture, but the new way to become rich with limited liability.

That of course was until the 1987 when stock market crash occurred, and began a different cycle of booms and busts that culminated in even greater and greater explosions, such as the Savings and Loan scandal, the Dot Com bubble, the Housing Bubble and 2008 stock market crash, and in 2016, a derivatives time bomb that could soon destroy the wealth of every individual except for a select few.

But there have been signals along the way for those who actually pay attention to their money instead of simply giving it to Wall Street 'experts' for 30 to 40 years and hoping that at the end it will fund their retirements.  And the very asset that has been both a barometer and a safe haven signal in all of these events has been gold.

Both central bankers and Wall Street hate gold because it not only limits their ability to leverage capital far beyond the boundaries sound money would allow, but it does one other important thing which is to put authority over money back into your hands.  And in the end it is the ultimate rebellion against a corrupted financial system, which in today's world owns most politicians, and can con government's into using taxpayer money to bail them out from their fraud and mistakes.
We’ll be blunt: most financial asset investors really hate gold.
Anything - even leaving money in the bank - is better than owning gold since at least society has access to your capital through the banking system.  Once you buy physical gold, no one has access to that sliver of your portfolio.
Of course, that’s actually a feature for the owner since physical gold is no one else’s liability.
So the notable rally in gold is essentially a protest vote against the global financial system, the equivalent of taking your ball and going home.
This only happens when investors think central banks have lost their way, and that’s not good news.  Think of gold as a super-duty dive watch.  It can go places humans can’t actually even dive.  The watch will outlive the person wearing it.  Kind of cool, but you don’t necessarily want to test it yourself.  - ConvergEx's Nick Colas via Zerohedge

Gold: Best performing asset of the 21st century, and one of the top 3 since 1971

Because gold was disconnected from money, an interesting thing has occurred which has only been seen a few times in history when precious metals were relegated as commodities rather than as a currency.  It has become a form of investment as well as simply being alternative money or wealth protection, and in fact, has been the best performing asset of the 21st century despite the massive stock, bond, and housing bubbles created through the use of debt and low interest rates.  And it is also one of the top 3 performing assets since its disconnect from currencies beginning in 1971.

So... gold has not only been one of the best investments of the past 45 years, and especially the past 16, it is a way to protect and hedge against inflation and against central bank manipulation of currencies, and lastly it is the one true way to tell Wall Street and bankers to 'shove it' by taking your money completely out of their rigged game, and limit their ability to increasingly leverage debt and steal your money by removing the capital foundation they use in the markets.

And with more and more people finally waking up out of the Wall Street programming that helped fuel their greed by conniving people to trust them with their money by giving it to them for decades under the guise of mutual funds, 401k's, and IRA's, how can you achieve nearly every financial need and desire you have through the purchasing and holding of gold?

You can do so with a company called Karatbars.

Buying gold through Karatbars is one of the easiest things on the net.  In fact, the business model of Karatbars is to sell gold in affordable quantities, such as 1, 2.5, and 5 gram increments, and allow customers to get into the metal without having to shell out $1200+ for a single ounce coin.

And as added perks to signing up with Karatbars, as a customer or affiliate, Karatbars is working on a new e-wallet system that functions just like an offshore bank account, and is outside the authority of the banking system.  From there, you can take your fiat currency in any denomination... dollars, euros, yen, etc... and purchase physical gold which can either be delivered directly to you, or stored for free at one of Karatbar's vaults.

Additionally, any gold that you buy can easily be sold back to Karatbars, or any metals dealer, and if with Karatbars it is then exchanged for currency that is uploaded to you through a pre-loaded debit Mastercard which is connected directly to your e-wallet.  And as we know, MasterCard is recognized in nearly every country around the world, and usable in any currency that accepts it.

But perhaps the best feature with Karatbars is their affiliate program, where you can earn money off commissions from getting others to sign up and become a customer or affiliate.  Not only do you receive commissions from their purchasing of physical gold, but you also earn commissions from anyone who buys a commission package, with that money going directly into your debit MasterCard when you have enough units to cycle.

Imagine the ability to earn the money in which to buy your gold savings simply by purchasing a commission affiliate package one time, and then getting others to sign up and do the same thing.

How many businesses or entrepreneurs can build an infinite business with spending less than $400 of their own money?  And there is never a mandatory requirement to buy beyond what you desire, on your own schedule.  And there is nothing to lose, because you're using money (paper dollars) to buy gold (physical money) and in the end you don't lose a thing.

The global financial system, along with dozens of respected economists, are telling us that now is the time for the end of our current form of money, and the beginning of the transition into a new monetary system that is expected to be backed by gold.  And with banks, governments, and even Harvard professors mandating that central banks have no choice but to eliminate cash from usage by the people to stave off collapse, will you wait until it is too late to make a decision on how you will protect your wealth, and be able to function within the coming new monetary system?

J.P. Morgan confirms recession signal for U.S. while also downgrading 21 emerging markets

When Wall Street and other mainstream analysts provide forecasts for the markets, one must always take them with a grain of salt since these investment banks also have skin in the game for the outcomes they prognosticate.  But at certain points in a business cycle the data becomes impossible to hide, and what is reported by these analysts can be quite accurate as to the real state of an economy.
Thus when J.P. Morgan started the year on Jan. 4 by downgrading 21 of 22 emerging markets, it appeared to be dead on as global markets fell precipitously on Monday, with some like in China declining more than 7% in a single session.

Brother can you spare $106,000?

One longstanding mantra in the investment world has always been, buy on rumor, sell on news.  But thanks to social media, and a 24 hour a day business news cycle, this paradigm has gone much further than ever before, and where the media has become the platform for stock manipulation created on many levels.
We can recall a few months ago how weight watchers stock soared in the aftermath of an announcement that billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey had purchased a stake in the company, despite the fact that the fundamentals for the company had not changed.  And in a unique instance of speculation gone wrong this week, a short seller of a bio-tech company was suddenly crushed simply because an infamous name in the investment community stepped in to buy half the company he was shorting, and it has led to a margin call of extreme proportions.

Wall Street in Washington: Government pays out millions in bonuses to those who let veterans die

In the aftermath of the 2008 Credit Crisis, bailed out banks and corporations were allowed to pay out billions in bonuses to the very people who’s speculation and fraud led to the bringing of the global financial system to the brink of collapse.  Now seven years later, Washington is following in the same footsteps as Wall Street by giving out $142 million in bonuses to V.A. workers who played a role in the scandal that led to hundreds of deaths of veterans and servicemen.
The Veterans Administration has seen two major scandals in the past decade, with little more than embarrassment and righteous indignation coming from their revelations.  First under President George W. Bush, V.A. hospitals were found to be dilapidated and unsafefor the servicemen coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan.  And then under Barack Obama, watchdog groups blew the whistle on secret ‘lists’ that ensured veterans were not given proper care and treatments, with hundreds of them dying due to their inability to get even the most basic of care.

Got Karatbars? Fortune 500 company Overstock.com setting aside $10 million in gold for employees for next finanical crisis

In today's corporate world, it is far more likely that a company would cut salaries and jobs during a recession or financial collapse than to actually put aside money to help their employees make it through the difficult times.  But one company is bucking that trend, and in preparation for the next economic collapse, Overstock.com has not only put aside money to help ensure their workers make it through the crisis, but is doing so by purchasing and storing $10 million in physical gold for that task.

That is right, a corporation known for being proactive to both its customers and its workers is expecting the next financial crisis to be bad for the dollar and the banking system, and good for the monetary metal that has stood the time for more than 5000 years.

In addition to setting aside gold to help its employees, Overstock CEO spoke with Utah's primary hub for the state's new gold backed money program and reiterated how trust in both Wall Street and the banks will only bring poverty and loss during the next financial collapse.
We are not big fans of Wall Street and we don't trust them. We foresaw the financial crisis, we fought against the financial crisis that happened in 2008; we don't trust the banks still and we foresee that with QE3, and QE4 and QE n that at some point there is going to be another significant financial crisis.
So what do we do as a business so that we would be prepared when that happens. One thing that we do that is fairly unique: we have about $10 million in gold, mostly the small button-sized coins, that we keep outside of the banking system. We expect that when there is a financial crisis there will be a banking holiday. I don't know if it will be 2 days, or 2 weeks, or 2 months. We have $10 million in gold and silver in denominations small enough that we can use for payroll. We want to be able to keep our employees paid, safe and our site up and running during a financial crisis.
We also happen to have three months of food supply for every employee that we can live on. - Zerohedge
Below are the highlights of Overstock.com's CEO speaking to the United Precious Metals Association in Utah.

Unfortunately for most people, very few work for a company that keeps its employees in mind when planning for economic downturns, or outright financial crises.  So that leaves it up to the individual to ensure that their own financial foundation is not only protected, but done so in a manner that can weather whatever storm may come, and allow that individual to come out of the crisis ahead of the game.

This of course leaves most people with few options as nearly all financial programs are based on the reliance that the dollar will always be relevant, since nearly every asset is denominated in the paper fiat currency we use today.

But like what the CEO of Overstock has done for his company and employees, you can also protect your wealth and grow your preparedness in physical gold, and the best place to do this is with a company called Karatbars.

U.S. takeover of Ukraine escalates as American hedge fund manager becomes Finance Minister

There is already plenty of evidence that the Kiev coup was orchestrated by covert elements in the Central Intelligence Agency, but what is very chilling is how the takeover of the Ukrainian government by the U.S. continues to escalate even after ‘elections’ were run back in May.  In fact, on Dec. 4 an American national who worked for decades within the U.S. government, and who also ran a financial hedge fund on Wall Street, was just named to the position of Ukrainian Finance Minister, validating again that the U.S. proxy war against Russia involves the occupation of their closest neighbor.
