The Israel Deception

Is the return of Israel in the 20th century truly a work of God, or is it a result of a cosmic chess move to deceive the elect by the adversary?

Gold and Silver set to take off even as the undisputed King of Commodities forecasts worst economic problems of a lifetime

On Friday silver crossed back over $18 per ounce for the first time since November as the precious metal complex has been even stronger at the start of this year than it was 2016 following identical rate hikes in December by the Federal Reserve.  And now that gold has achieved a vastly important technical indicator by initiating the highly positive Golden Cross, prices for metals are fueled for takeoff at a time of vast uncertainty, and where Jim Rogers, the undisputed King of Commodity trading, is forecasting economic problems so dire that they will be the worst in our lifetime, and consequently people will perish.

...get prepared because we're going to have the worst economic problems we've had in your lifetime or my lifetime and when that happens a lot of people are going to disappear.
In 2008 Bear Stearns disappeared, Bear Stearns had been around over 90 years. Lehman Brothers disappeared. Lehman Brothers had been around over 150 years. A long, long time, a long glorious history they’ve been through wars, depression, civil war they've been through everything and yet they disappear.
So the next time around it's going to be worse than anything we've seen and a lot of institutions, people, companies even countries, certainly governments and maybe even countries are going to disappear. I hope you get very worried.
When you start having bear markets as you I’m sure well know one bad thing happens and another bad thing happens and these things snowball just like in bull markets good news comes out then more good news comes out the next thing you know you're five or six or seven years into a bull market.
Well bear markets do the same thing and so we have a lot of bad news on the horizon. I haven't even gotten to war. I haven't even gotten to trade war or anything like that but you know things do go wrong. - Microvoices via Zerohedge

How much gold and silver should an individual or family have to protect their wealth?

For those who invest, save, or stack gold and silver, the question always arises on what kind, and how much should individuals or families have to protect themselves from a financial disaster, or to protect their wealth.  The answer of course is arbitrary since no two people live under the same circumstances, but there are some general rules to help in diversifying yourself from the cycles of economic chaos.

If there is anything the last 100 years have taught us is that either by greed, corruption, natural cycles or simple chance, economies and currencies will have periods of extreme decline.  And sadly for most people, no matter how many times the financial system fails, few prepare themselves for that one time the turmoil will come to effect them, or even their entire community.

In just the past 20 years we have seen two economies go into hyperinflation, and several others experience currency crises and deep depressions.  And while the United States and most of Europe has not fully collapsed into any of these scenarios, history shows that at some point all empires fall, and all monetary systems fail.

But will it be in our lifetimes?

If the financial crisis of 2008 proved anything it is that systems can seize up and collapse in a matter of days.  Yet unlike the phantom specters of events such as Y2K or even the more recent Brexit vote, people often don't have months or years to prepare for change and must learn to make monetary preparation a lifestyle choice.

So the question still remains... how much gold and silver should individuals or families accumulate to be solvent in nearly any crisis or financial cycle change that could take place?  We know in Venezuela right now that on the streets an ounce of silver will buy enough food for a family to last 3-4 months, and a gold ounce coin will buy a house.  But more than this, when the inevitable global financial collapse comes what will you need to be able to both survive, and set the foundations to thrive in what new system emerges.

The first thing one must do is change their mindset.  When determining the amount of precious metals to own the solution is not determined in price or value, but in the number of ounces.  This is important because their values change daily, and are different in relation to the hundreds of different currencies operational around the world.

Second you must do a real evaluation of your wealth, incomes, debts, and needs.  And from there it becomes much easier to figure out what goals to set in accumulating a stack.

Thirdly you must recognize what each form of precious metals does for your portfolio and how to allocate it.  The best rule of thumb is to see the metals and metal stocks in this light.

1.  Gold - Wealth protection
2.  Silver - Barter and also Investment
3.  Mining Stocks - Speculation

Each of these are also in the correct order of risk, with gold being the least risky and mining stocks being the most volatile.

Here is a good example of how much of each metal you would need if there were no longer cash or income from employment, and the economy had moved into an inflationary spiral.

Chart courtesy of Jeff Clark

But as with all financial crises, there are no cut and dry parameters or limits to be fully covered.  As I noted today in Venezuela, only three ounces of silver would cover your food needs for one year.

In times past brokers who actually believed in precious metal ownership suggested having 5-10% of your wealth held in both gold and silver, while another 5% might be dedicated towards speculation (mining stocks).  But this adheres to the premise of value vs. ounces, and since your would be holding the metals physically in hand, ounces are the most important determinant.

As I am not a Certified Financial Planner, I can only give suggestions and thoughts based on my experiences and prognostication of future events.  And with this in mind for myself as a single unmarried individual, my minimum stacks would be like this.

10 ounces (or equal grams) of gold bullion
500 ounces of silver
$500 - $5000 in speculative mining stocks

In the end this article is not meant to determine exactly for you how much gold and silver you would need to protect your wealth and hedge against financial crises or uncertainties.  But it is a beginning from where you can assess your own situations and set some short, medium, and long-term goals because the time for buying any type of insurance is always before the disaster strikes, not while it is happening when that insurance will be far beyond your ability to afford it.

Former Goldman Sachs analyst who predicted 2008 crisis now telling investors to get into gold as we enter new recession

Despite the recent pullbacks in the gold price over the past month, one well respected analyst and investor stated in an interview on Oct. 19 that gold will not only go much higher during the next financial crisis that is inevitable because of negative interest rates and geo-political uncertainty, but that it is the most stable 'currency' to have your wealth stored as in what is to come.

Raoul Pal is a former Goldman Sachs analyst and trader who now owns a proprietary company called Global Macro Investor.  And while admitting he is and has never been a gold bug, he and many of his investment peers are all recommending gold as a necessity in the world's current and fragile monetary environment.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, which asset is most mispriced of all? According to a Goldman Sachs alum who predicted the financial crisis in 2008, it’s gold.
The precious metal should be a lot more expensive when the likelihood of a global financial collapse and a move toward negative interest rates is accounted for, says Global Macro Investor founder Raoul Pal, who now sees a U.S. recession within 12 months.
Uncertainty about Brexit and the timing of a Federal Reserve rate hike triggered a rush into the dollar, which often moves inversely to the metal. (Higher rates can work against gold, but the metal becomes a safe haven if the economy slows.)
“As we get to negative interest rates, gold is a good place to park your cash,” said Pal, who discussed his outlook with MarketWatch in a September interview and a follow-up conversation over email.
“I’m not a gold bug,” the former GLG Global Macro Fund co-manager — who is also watching the dollar closely — “but this is the currency I would choose now.”
Pal, an economist and strategist, also co-founded Real Vision TV, which conducts interviews with prominent investors. Many of his recent guests share his enthusiasm for gold, according to Pal.
“All the really serious thinkers are interested in gold,” he said. - Marketwatch

The only real option if you offshore your money is to keep it in gold

If you take into consideration all the extreme monetary policies and capital controls instituted by governments and central banks over the past six years you would come to the realization that offshoring some or a large portion of your wealth is no longer a luxury, but a necessity.  But in many of these controls that several governments have created to try to monitor, tax, and even confiscate one's wealth if they try to protect it from devaluation, the only real option is to transfer it into some form of asset that is outside the banking system.

And more than any other facility possible, that option is gold.

Under current U.S reporting laws, if you own gold offshore in an individual name, it is not a requirement that you report it to either the IRS or the U.S Treasury. However, if the title of the gold is held in the name of a legal entity, it must be reported but if it is held in your offshore account, it is reportable. So, owning and holding gold in an offshore account is completely legal.
There are several reasons why people use offshore accounts to own and store gold. These include offshore confidentiality, protection, tax planning, privacy, and investment diversification among other things. A carefully planned and executed offshore account can assist you with each of the areas mentioned above. By transferring your gold to an offshore account, you are also protecting your asset to the fullest extent.
It is easy to have some or all of your gold in an offshore account waiting for you when you need it. If in the event of a price movement you want to sell it, you can always hire a local lawyer and instruct them to act on your behalf. Considering that many countries, especially those in Asia, view gold as something in demand or money, it is often easy to sell and fetch better prices in Asian countries.
If you choose to store your gold in a private vault facility, you also add a unique layer of privacy to your asset. This is because precious metals held in non-bank facilities, and more so gold, are not subject to government reporting. From Switzerland and Singapore to Austria and Hong Kong, there are many gold storage facilities in these privacy-friendly countries. - SMHPA
The financial system stands on the cusp of its next great crisis, with several banks this week forecasting collapse in multiple markets and infrastructures.  And whether it is in Germany with Deutsche Bank, Italy with their faltering banks, or the realization that the Fed, ECB, and Bank of Japan are out of options, the threat of bank bail-ins are now very real, as is the institution of even greater capital controls that will limit your ability to protect your wealth in the very near future.

Don’t blame Brexit as global recession and financial crises were here long before UK vote

The powers that be have learned to never let a crisis go to waste.  And in the wake of last month’s Brexit vote which they desperately didn’t want to happen, mainstream financial analysts and central bankers are now shifting the UK vote into the perfect excuse to blame the oncoming global recession and financial collapse on that event and on the British people.
But for any real economist who isn’t a paid shill of the establishment, knowledge that the global economy and global financial systems were rushing headlong into crisis occurred long before the June 24 vote.  And following the Federal Reserve’s stress test that ended last week, not only did two large European banks fail the test, but in Italy where no banks were deemed to be in trouble by the U.S. central bank, the first bailout outside of Greece is now taking place, and two institutions in London are halting redemptions in the nation’s largest property funds.

Gold's unstoppable rise coupled with bond crashes the final warnings for a coming monetary collapse

Contrary to central banks and financial pundits, it is the bond market, rather than the stock markets, which provide the true signals for the strength of an economy and of a currency.  And this has never been so true since the world went forward with its credit based monetary system.

Yet in addition to this, the one commodity which also acts as a warning sign for monetary and financial collapse is gold.  And it has proven accurate on at least three occasions going back to the 1970's when the precious metal was removed as a backstop for all global currencies.

As we begin the second half of 2016, some interesting events are taking place that go far beyond last week's Brexit vote and possible future ending of the European Union project.  First, the number of global sovereign bonds that now have negative yields are at $11.7 trillion, and is a number that is climbing daily.  And secondly in the U.S., where the dollar remains the global reserve currency and the U.S. Treasury the most important credit vehicle, yields for treasuries have fallen to their lowest point since the 1950's.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat lower at 1.004 percent, after hitting their lowest level in four years, according to Reuters. The yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was also lower at 2.241 percent after hitting a new all-time low. - CNBC
U.S. 30-year yield hits lowest in at least 60 years.  Treasuries post highest return in 17 months in June * Bond prices pare gains after ISM PMI data beats forecast * Fed monitoring Brexit's impact on U.S. - Fed's Fischer - The U.S. Treasuries market rallied on Friday, with the 30-year yield hitting its lowest since the 1950s in a worldwide scramble for bonds on expectations of weak global growth and more policy stimulus from major central banks. - Yahoo Finance
Even during the 2008 Credit Crisis did bond yields for the 10 and 30 year never get so low, which validates that the world is rushing full on out of their own financial instruments and are willing to take even a smidgeon of return in exchange for a flight to safety.

But as we have seen since January, U.S. bonds aren't the only signal of a move out of stocks and faltering currencies.  In fact, gold has been the best performing asset for the entire year, and as more and more geo-political and economic events reveal themselves to place the global financial system on the precipice of collapse, the monetary metal will not only soar past its all-time high, but ultimately be the only true safe haven when even the dollar no longer acts as a currency of strength and stability.

G20 to hold secret emergency meeting this summer to discuss possible financial collapse

Last month, the Federal Reserve called two secret meetings with their regional Presidents along with a separate third secret meeting held at the White House between Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen and the President Barack Obama.  No one completely knows what was discussed during these meetings, but ever since then, Fed officials have been going overboard in the media to try to prop up the dollar with promises of rate hike in June.

But the U.S. is not the only country teetering on the brink of currency and financial turmoil.  On May 18 it was leaked that the G20 called for a secret emergency meeting to be held within the next two months to possibly discuss what to do about a coming financial collapse.

How many “emergency” “secret” meetings do the central planners, around the world, need to have before the citizens of the respective countries begin to fully understand and take notice that something is very, very wrong?
This year alone there have been several off-calendar meetings with, at least, one more now added to the docket.
The G-20 central planners have scheduled an “emergency” meeting for summer 2016.
What will the topics be? Could it possibly be the fact the global economy is on the verge total collapse? With the Baltic Dry Index, Shanghai Containerized Freight Index, not to mention commodities, all spiraling out of control to the downside, do you think there may be a reason for these people to be concerned? My guess is they could care less and are simply meeting in order to determine how the remaining wealth, in their respective countries, will be divided as the global economy continues grinding to a halt. - Silver Doctors
It is not coincidence that central banks have suddenly changed policy here in 2016 and becoming net buyers of physical gold after four years of being net sellers and working diligently to drive down the price.  And the world has crossed the Rubicon over dollar hegemony and is accelerating towards a new global reserve system to try to blanket the unsustainable debts created in staving off collapse just eight years ago.

Gold vs. Stocks: Trend ratios looking exactly like 2007 just prior to financial collapse

Contrary to the year of the financial EVENT in 2008 that changed the global economy forever, the circumstances behind the Credit Crisis started in 2007 with the collapse of the housing bubble, and the apex of the six year equity Bull Market.  And one thing it also triggered was the beginning of the next leg of the Bull Market in gold, which would move from the $700's to a new all-time high of over $1900 in a short period of time.

There are many things that act as warnings and signposts for future events, and one of these has occurred since the beginning of the year which parallels 2007, and the beginning of events that led to a worldwide financial collapse.

The ratio between gold growth and stock market declines.

As you can see on this chart, the 2016 performances of both gold and the S&P 500 are exactly the same as the performance of each back in 2007.
Gold is enjoying an incredible year, surging 22 percent as the S&P 500is barely positive. What's rare is for the yellow metal to outperform the market so dramatically in a year when stocks are up.
In fact, going back to 1980, there has been only year in which gold has outperformed the S&P by 20 percent or more while the latter was positive on the year: 2007.
Both gold and the fear-measuring CBOE Volatility Index surged in the second half of that year, even as stocks maintained their footing. The crash, of course, came in 2008. - CNBC

Finland to discuss whether to leave the Euro currency

First there was Greece (Grexit), who looked long and hard at leaving the Eurozone during last year’s financial crisis.  And that discontent is being followed up now in Britain (Brexit), who is expected to propose a referendum to have a vote on whether to stay or leave the union sometime in 2017.
And with Mario Draghi and the European Central Bank (ECB) taking interest rates down to zero on Thursday, and in some parts of the lending facility below that into negative territory, one Northern European member is taking a long look at whether to leave the Euro currency following a public petition that has now moved the idea into their legislature to debate on the issue.

Got Karatbars? Asia imploding, European banks collapsing, and gold on cusp of first $100 trading day

One day after Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen did little to infuse confidence into the markets, the world stands on the precipice of the next global financial collapse.  Beginning in Asia, where stock markets were crushed and the Yen fell to a several year low of 110 to the dollar, and moving into Europe where Germany's largest bank dropped another 9% on its way to perhaps the biggest insolvency of the century, the threats are weighing on central banks to not only go full into negative interest rates, but to implement a new round of QE valued in the tens of trillions.

In response to this, very few markets are representing safe havens.  And judging by the overnight trading in the gold markets, the metal appears ready to skyrocket and potentially give investors and savers in gold its first $100 trading day.

Gold has moved over $42 today through the middle of European trading with U.S. equity markets already down -290 points in their futures.  And more importantly, the benchmark 10-year bond is down to an astounding 1.58%... meaning that returns on historic safe havens are being limited to the physical metals.

Pre-U.S. market open breakdown
Yesterday morning, when musing on the day's key event namely Yellen's congressional testimony, we dismissed the most recent bout of European bank euphoria which we said "will be brief if not validated by concrete actions, because while central banks have the luxury of jawboning, commercial banks are actually burning through funds - rapidly at that - and don't have the luxury of hoping for the best while doing nothing." This morning DB has wiped out all of yesterday's gain.

As for Yellen's testimony, we said that "she can send stocks reeling with one word out of place" - the word in question being not what she said but what she didn't say, in this case not being dovish enough and thus supportive enough of risk. And the consequence is there for all to see as soon as their trading terminal boots up: everything is crashing (with the exception of China which is on holiday, and Japan which was mercifully closed yesterday). Here are the highlights:
S&P 500 futures down 1.8% to 1814
Stoxx 600 down 3.4% to 304
FTSE 100 down 2.6% to 5525
DAX down 2.9% to 8760
German 10Yr yield down 7bps to 0.18%
MSCI Asia Pacific up 0.1% to 117
Hang Seng down 3.8% to 18546
S&P/ASX 200 up 1% to 4821
US 10-yr yield down 5bps to 1.62%
Dollar Index down 0.42% to 95.49
WTI Crude futures down 2.9% to $26.65
Brent Futures down 1.7% to $30.31
Gold spot up 3.5% to $1,242
Silver spot up 2.8% to $15.80
- Zerohedge
Here at The Daily Economist we have been talking about the need to get out of paper assets, bank accounts, and into physical gold for several years, and although it took about eight years following the 2008 Credit Crisis and bank collapses for the next event to occur, the ramifications of this new crisis is happening before out eyes.  And your window for getting out of stocks, bonds, and potential bail-in scenarios and into physical gold is shrinking close to the point of no return.

And is why you need Karatbars more than ever

Buying gold through Karatbars is one of the easiest things on the net.  In fact, the business model of Karatbars is to sell gold in affordable quantities, such as 1, 2.5, and 5 gram increments, and allow customers to get into the metal without having to shell out $1200+ for a single ounce coin.

And as added perks to signing up with Karatbars, as a customer or affiliate, Karatbars is working on a new e-wallet system that functions just like an offshore bank account, and is outside the authority of the banking system.  From there, you can take your fiat currency in any denomination... dollars, euros, yen, etc... and purchase physical gold which can either be delivered directly to you, or stored for free at one of Karatbar's vaults.

Additionally, any gold that you buy can easily be sold back to Karatbars, or any metals dealer, and if with Karatbars it is then exchanged for currency that is uploaded to you through a pre-loaded debit Mastercard which is connected directly to your e-wallet.  And as we know, MasterCard is recognized in nearly every country around the world, and usable in any currency that accepts it.

But perhaps the best feature with Karatbars is their affiliate program, where you can earn money off commissions from getting others to sign up and become a customer or affiliate.  Not only do you receive commissions from their purchasing of physical gold, but you also earn commissions from anyone who buys a commission package, with that money going directly into your debit MasterCard when you have enough units to cycle.

Imagine the ability to earn the money in which to buy your gold savings simply by purchasing a commission affiliate package one time, and then getting others to sign up and do the same thing.

How many businesses or entrepreneurs can build an infinite business with spending less than $400 of their own money?  And there is never a mandatory requirement to buy beyond what you desire, on your own schedule.  And there is nothing to lose, because you're using money (paper dollars) to buy gold (physical money) and in the end you don't lose a thing.

The global financial system, along with dozens of respected economists, are telling us that now is the time for the end of our current form of money, and the beginning of the transition into a new monetary system that is expected to be backed by gold.  And with banks, governments, and even Harvard professors mandating that central banks have no choice but to eliminate cash from usage by the people to stave off collapse, will you wait until it is too late to make a decision on how you will protect your wealth, and be able to function within the coming new monetary system?

To learn more about Karatbars, you can contact the individual who sent you this article, and click on their referral link to open a free account and begin buying, or building your own gold savings or business with the company of the future.

Comex gold pricing mechanism being used to cover up the ongoing financial crisis

In a short presentation on Feb. 5, famed metals analyst Mike Maloney details how the Comex futures market be the mechanism that is being used to cover up an ongoing financial collapse in the global markets.  And judging by the reaction yesterday alone for gold, which was pushed down using 1.2 billion to naked short the market only to retrace the $20 it lost and end the trading day up $18.00, shows that even this institution is losing its ability to sway investors away from precious metals and as a hedge to protect the declining dollar.

Timeline for Collapse - 2016-2018: Interview with V the Guerrilla Economist

Happy New Year!  And perhaps we should enjoy this one like Dec. 31, 2008 before everything fell apart.

Below is an interview from today with V the Guerrilla Economist on his forecast for the economy, and the expected financial collapse that should take place between now and 2018.

Got Karatbars? IMF's inclusion of the Yuan is first step towards a return to a gold backed monetary system

Monday, November 30 was a red letter day in the annals of the global monetary system as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) recognized the legitimacy of the Chinese RMB, and accepted it into its Special Drawing Rights (SDR) basket of currencies.  This move not only opens the door for expanding use of the Yuan internationally, but it is the first step in a long game of returning money back to a gold standard in either trade or direct currency use.
Today’s news is a historic milestone. The dollar’s days are numbered, and the new global economic order is shifting into place.
As many insiders have expected, China has now officially gained status among the world reserve currencies, taking place alongside the dollar, the euro, the pound and the yen.
The IMF decided to grant this upgrade as a result of financial and monetary benchmarks that Chinese leaders worked towards during the past several years. Its implications run deep.
The Chinese renminbi will hold about 10% weight in the basket of currencies, with adjustments in the value of the euro, pound and yen to make room for it. Though the weight of the dollar, which holds 41.9% of global reserve value under the Special Drawing Rights (SDR), will not change with the inclusion of the renminbi, the symbolic challenge to dollar supremacy is obvious enough. - SHTFPlan.com

China has already laid out the basic foundations for expansion of the Yuan in international trade as over the past 30 days they have instituted bond hubs in London, Frankfurt, South Korea, and also Russia.  And just a day after the IMF's announcement, both Argentina and the BRICS Bank showed their support for the Yuan to become a major part of the global monetary system.
The triggers for profound unspeakable sudden crisis are lead by A) a continued decline in the crude oil price, B) bank failures from expired oil contract hedges, and C) the default of between $6 and $11 trillion in Emerging Market debt.
One or more of these events is likely to occur in the next few months, probably all three.
All three are extensions of the death of the USDollar, which is manifested in its rise.
Like a balloon it will pop. The system will not be able to withstand the shock. Systemic breakdown will give way to failure of the entire monetary system upon which the USDollar rests. The Gold Standard will be urged on, first in trade, then in banking, finally in currency. The USDollar will be swept aside, its rubble put in the dustbin of history, the memories likened to Rome during the Nero period.
When the next crisis hits, it will be five times worse than the Lehman event within the United States in 2008. When the next crisis hits, it will be five times worse than the Asian Meltdown internationally in 1998. - Jim Willie via Silver Doctors
“The U.S. Mint's sales of American Eagle coins surged in November, with gold nearly tripling month-over-month and silver already reaching a new annual record as bullion prices fell to multi-year lows” reported Reuters.

In addition, one has to wonder if even the Fed knows that the days of the dollar are numbered, and that a catastrophic financial crisis is just over the horizon since on the same day the IMF welcomed the Yuan into the SDR, the Fed announced a new internal law saying they were no longer lending to banks, and would not even during an emergency where their mandate of 'Lender of Last Resort' has summarily been eliminated.

So if the global banking system is not only moving away from the dollar, and moving towards the Chinese Yuan, and China's ultimate goal is a return to the gold standard and a sound form of money, how can you get in on the action and be not only prepared for the sea changes that are occurring before our eyes, but also come out ahead when the new financial system is born?

You can accomplish this with a company called Karatbars.

Got Karatbars? Fortune 500 company Overstock.com setting aside $10 million in gold for employees for next finanical crisis

In today's corporate world, it is far more likely that a company would cut salaries and jobs during a recession or financial collapse than to actually put aside money to help their employees make it through the difficult times.  But one company is bucking that trend, and in preparation for the next economic collapse, Overstock.com has not only put aside money to help ensure their workers make it through the crisis, but is doing so by purchasing and storing $10 million in physical gold for that task.

That is right, a corporation known for being proactive to both its customers and its workers is expecting the next financial crisis to be bad for the dollar and the banking system, and good for the monetary metal that has stood the time for more than 5000 years.

In addition to setting aside gold to help its employees, Overstock CEO spoke with Utah's primary hub for the state's new gold backed money program and reiterated how trust in both Wall Street and the banks will only bring poverty and loss during the next financial collapse.
We are not big fans of Wall Street and we don't trust them. We foresaw the financial crisis, we fought against the financial crisis that happened in 2008; we don't trust the banks still and we foresee that with QE3, and QE4 and QE n that at some point there is going to be another significant financial crisis.
So what do we do as a business so that we would be prepared when that happens. One thing that we do that is fairly unique: we have about $10 million in gold, mostly the small button-sized coins, that we keep outside of the banking system. We expect that when there is a financial crisis there will be a banking holiday. I don't know if it will be 2 days, or 2 weeks, or 2 months. We have $10 million in gold and silver in denominations small enough that we can use for payroll. We want to be able to keep our employees paid, safe and our site up and running during a financial crisis.
We also happen to have three months of food supply for every employee that we can live on. - Zerohedge
Below are the highlights of Overstock.com's CEO speaking to the United Precious Metals Association in Utah.

Unfortunately for most people, very few work for a company that keeps its employees in mind when planning for economic downturns, or outright financial crises.  So that leaves it up to the individual to ensure that their own financial foundation is not only protected, but done so in a manner that can weather whatever storm may come, and allow that individual to come out of the crisis ahead of the game.

This of course leaves most people with few options as nearly all financial programs are based on the reliance that the dollar will always be relevant, since nearly every asset is denominated in the paper fiat currency we use today.

But like what the CEO of Overstock has done for his company and employees, you can also protect your wealth and grow your preparedness in physical gold, and the best place to do this is with a company called Karatbars.

Karatbars

Got Karatbars? Banks around the world are in conditions just like 2008 during the 'Lehman Moment'

Back in 2008, the entire global financial system went from stable to collapse in the course of just four days.  I remember watching an interview on CNBC on the Wednesday prior to the collapse when the CEO of Bear Stearns strongly informed the talking heads of the network that they had $26 billion in capitalization, and there was no chance of them going insolvent.

However, four days later not only did Bear Stearns cease to exist after over 100 years of being in business, but Lehman Brothers also collapsed and the people of the United States were introduced to the 'New Norm' of government intervention through bailouts, money printing, zero interest rates and a program that has yet to be implemented, Bail ins.

Yet even after this intervention led to over $30 trillion of money being spent to prop up banks, $27 trillion to buy equities in the stock markets, and currencies being devalued to protect individual exports, the world stands on the cusp of an even bigger implosion, only this time it looks like it will begin in Europe.

Three banks and commodity trading desks in Europe are quickly heading towards financial crisis, and one in particular could be the domino that knocks down banks all across the world.

Glencore
Experts are beginning to warn of the dire financial impact across the mining and metals space if Glencore, one of the world's largest resource companies, is unable to control its skyrocketing debt load.
"Glencore is like Lehman Brothers, they have the most sophisticated trading desk when it comes to metals, coal, copper, iron ore. They're not just a company processing ore from the ground. If it was to unravel, that could have a global impact," Frank Holmes, CEO and chief investment officer at U.S. Global Investors, told CNBC on Tuesday. - CNBC

Trafigura
Judging by what happened less than two months later, it appears that we have our answer: for now at least, Glencore, which is now flailing and which Bloomberg reported moments ago is set to meet with its bond investors tomorrow (supposedly to allay their fears of an imminent insolvency), is firmly the "answer" to our rhetorical question.
And yet, something stinks.
First, a quick look at Trafigura bonds reveals that the contagion from the Glencore commodity-trader collapse, which "nobody could possibly predict" two months ago and which has rapidly become the market's biggest black swan, has spread and we now have a new contender. And while Trafigura's equity is privately held, it does have publicly-traded bonds. They just cratered: - Zerohedge

Deutsche Bank
My best German source informs me that 3 major banks are in trouble, and these 3 banks are fighting every single night to fight off insolvency and failure.  He says CitiGroup in New York, Barclays in London, and Deutsche Bank in Germany- every single night are in trouble.
The important thing to keep in mind about Deutsche Bank is that it won’t go down alone if it goes down at all.  If it fails, it will take along with it 3,4,5,6 or 10, or 15 other banks!   It will be 1 or 2 quickly, then a 3rd and 4th a few weeks later, another, then before you know it, all of Italy and their major banks would be kaput.
My belief is that Deutsche Bank and its constant overnight risk of failure is somewhat tied to derivatives related to LIBOR, and also a risk related to their FOREX derivatives.   In other words, derivatives that the banks use to balance off the currencies. Believe it or not, in the derivatives world, gold is treated like a currency.  Isn’t that ironic?
The FOREX derivatives that the banks are involved in are very much tied to gold. - Jim Willie, Silver Doctors Interview

In addition to Jim Willie's inside information on Deutsche Bank, analysts at the Economic Collapse Blog are also seeing the European power as a strong catalyst for the next global financial crisis, and has laid out their take on how and where it might start.

One has to wonder if this specter of 2008 occurring once again that is causing nations around the world to suddenly and without warning attempt to keep people from taking gold out of the country, especially as they seek more stable financial infrastructures to hold their wealth as the banks once again threaten to bring down the entire system.

There are limited options for the common man to protect their wealth, be prepared for whatever may come, and be fungible in whatever system or currency may emerge in the aftermath of the next collapse or paradigm shift.  And that option is in a form of money that has lasted over 5000 years, and is accepted in every single country on the planet.  And the best way to be prepared for all contingencies is through a company called Karatbars.

Shemitah arrives: Markets now opening for a very interesting week

September 13, or Elul 29 on the Hebrew calendar has finally arrived, and is occurring on a day in which the markets are closed for primary trading.  However, with Asia beginning their Monday open while the West still resides in the Shemitah for a few more hours,  the opportunity for market chaos because of the frequency of this event is still alive and well, and will continue at least until the Fed announces its policy changes for the coming months this Thursday.
The idea behind the Shemitah is that it entails a spiritual law from God that requires man to heed certain economic requirements when it comes to debts, land, finances, and even agriculture.  Every seven years the land, (or in this case markets), must be allowed to remain fallow, and with little productivity so that the economic system can use this year to dissolve toxic assets and prepare the land (or markets) for new blessings.  However, when man chooses not to heed this commandment or policy, nature itself will force a dissolution of wealth, and we have seen this occur time and time again in the markets going back as far 1873 in modern times.

With Western money managers seeing the U.S. equal to Greece, are you protected with Karatbars?

As many analysts point towards September being a crucial month for the stock markets, bond markets, and even the entire global financial system, a new chart out on July 2 shows that despite the rhetoric and propaganda parroted every day by the mainstream press, money managers throughout the U.S. and Western spheres of finance have been dumping their positions and moving into cash as fast as the market allows.

Net sales were the largest since January 2008 and led by institutional clients—after three weeks of net buying, institutional clients’ net sales last week were the largest in our data history." - Bank of America

Which means that the 'smart money' is getting out, and leaving you, Joe Six Pack, to hold the bag when the eventual market crash takes place.

In addition to selloff's in the stock markets, we recently published an article showing that the largest Bond Manager in Europe has told his clients to dump their holdings and move into cash because of the fear of great volatility and uncertainty moving forward.

So if the big boys are moving out of the market and into cash, and in particular not into financial instruments like bonds or annuities that no longer provide even a smidgeon of returns, what is available to you to protect your wealth and be prepared for whatever uncertainty comes upon us?

In 25 years, U.S. debt levels are projected to reach 156 percent of the economy, which Greece had in 2012. That projection comes from the Congressional Budget Office's alternative scenario, which is more realistic than its standard fiscal projection about which spending programs Congress will extend into the future.

If Congress leaves the federal budget on autopilot, debt levels will soar. Instead, spending must be reined in to avoid a Greek-style meltdown.
Yet even if the government were to begin its own form of austerity today, or the Fed were to actually raise interest rates instead of jawboning empty promises, the results will be catastrophic for the U.S. economy and stock markets, and the only conclusion to make is whether the system would crash sooner rather than later, as has been the paradigm since 2008 when they pumped in tens of trillions of dollar to delay the inevitable.

So for you, your family, your business, and your future, what is the answer to protecting your wealth, ensuring the government doesn't confiscate it through taxation, inflation, or outright theft, and how can you prepare for an outcome that even the best analysts have no confident answer for?

The answer lies in a company called Karatbars.

Can you still trust banks when the FDIC has less reserves to cover depositor losses than in 2008

We have already had examples of bank bail-ins.  We have had not just the United States, but all members of the G20 enact a resolution mandating legislation to allow for bank bail-ins, and the confiscation of customer deposits.  We have had the United States under Dodd-Frank declare your deposits as unsecured creditors, and at the lowest end of the scale for reimbursement in the advent of a bank collapse.
We have had financial institutions such as J.P. Morgan and Bank of America con Congress into allowing their derivative assets to be placed under the FDIC as a primary creditor, and according to the agencies own 2014 annual report, the deposit insurance corporation has even less reserves to support account holders in the advent of a bank failure today.
So why do we still trust banks with all this evidence showing that during the next banking or financial crisis, Americans will lose most or all their money?
